Your Responsibilities
The Molecular Biology Service (MBS) at ISTA is active in the areas of protein and viral vector production, purification and characterization. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a background in molecular biology, cell culture and virus production to support our services. If you are a service-oriented person, an excellent team player and eager to work in a dynamic research environment, we would like to welcome you as part of the MBS team Together we thrive to make an impact to the scientific community on campus and beyond.
- Produce, purify, titrate and characterize standard & custom virus particles up to safety level 2
- Produce DNA constructs for various viral gene delivery systems (e.g. AAVs, Lentivirus)
- Maintain (mammalian) cell culture and take care of cell culture related tasks
- Careful document working procedures and results according to QC standards
- Take care of lab equipment, resource management and lab organization
Your Profile
- University degree in Virology, (Molecular) Biology or a similar field
- Proven working experience in Molecular Biology techniques and mammalian cell culture
- Practical experience with virus productions and purifications, e.g. AAVs and Lentivirus
- Experience with virus quality control and titration, like flow cytometry (FACS) and qPCR
- Service and detail oriented working style with high quality standards and can-do attitude
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken), knowledge of German beneficial
- Excellent team player who can also work independently
