To strengthen the Public Affairs team in our Head Office in Vienna, we are looking for a Public Affairs Manager who will be responsible for advocacy related activities on EU level with a strong focus on Austria and Germany. This role will be embedded in the Sustainability & Public Affairs team and located in the Borealis Head Office.

**In this exciting role, your tasks will include to**:

- Support the development and implementation of the Borealis public affairs strategy at EU level and ensure close alignment with the OMV Group Public Affairs & International Relations team
- Manage contact with Austrian stakeholders and lead advocacy efforts in Austria
- Act as interface and support international alignment on public affairs across the DACH region
- Monitor and analyze relevant policy shaping initiatives and processes in regards to opportunities and risks, and communicate priority information to the business
- Negotiate public affairs positions with input from across business functions and create position papers for Borealis
- Coach stakeholders within business functions on public affairs matters

**About you**:

- A master’s degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Law, or a related area of study; alternatively, a master’s degree in Chemicals (or a related area of study) if combined with a post-graduate education relevant for public affairs
- 5+ years of experience in public affairs within either the chemical or a related industry; an international focus is a plus
- Successful track-record in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Business fluency in German and English (our corporate language)
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build alignment from different opinions into a unified position
- Cooperative, inquisitive and open-minded personality
- Excellent communication skills, paired with a diplomatic and consensus-oriented mindset
- Passionate about sustainability issues and driving a circular plastic economy
- Willingness to travel

**About Borealis and our offer**:
Following Austrian law regulations, we offer, reflecting your experiences, skills and competencies, competitive compensation based on the relevant collective labour agreement starting at EUR 84.000 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background.
