Your Responsibilities

Supporting science education and outreach is a founding principle and core mission of ISTA. To this end, VISTA Science Experiences was founded to establish ISTA as an international hub for innovative science education with a strong focus on fostering the understanding of science as a process. VISTA is committed to making science accessible for everyone, and therefore initiates a wide range of educational programs to bring cutting-edge research to science enthusiasts of all ages. To advance the development of our outreach programs and to lead our motivated team of Science Educators, we are looking for a Team Lead VISTA Program Development.
- Strategic development and management of various, often simultaneous science education projects
- Coordinating the co-development of exhibitions and educational programs in the VISTA Science Experience Center with a focus on accessible learning opportunities for diverse target groups
- Developing and implementing programs and processes to involve and train ISTA researchers for educational outreach
- Supporting the head of science education in strategic decisions and the planning of the entire umbrella of VISTA activities
- Supervising, leading and developing the VISTA Program Development team

Your Profile
- Academic degree, ideally in natural sciences, science and technology studies, or museum studies
- Extensive experience in developing science education formats, ideally in the context of a basic research institution
- Experience in grant writing, knowledge of the Austrian educational landscape is a plus
- High understanding of the nature of science and current socio-scientific issues
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, German skills are beneficial
- High degree of strategic thinking paired with creativity and an open-minded personality
- Ability to strategically prioritize and maintain an overview when managing various projects simultaneously
