As Research Intern - LCA (f/m/x) you will gain first-hand insights into one of the most promising impact start-ups in Europe Join us for 6 months on a part-time or full-time basis (25-40 hours) at our HQ in Vienna. Develop your research skills in an international work atmosphere and learn next to Tobias, our experienced Research Expert.

Tasks

Your main responsibility will be to contribute to the development of our internal impact estimator (an innovative tool to automatically conduct life cycle analysis/carbon footprints
of thousands of (food) products). In addition to that, In this role, you will:

- Contribute to the research on CO2 accounting standards and on life-cycle assessments (LCA).
- Develop and suggest methodologies to estimate a product's impact based on LCA research.
- Utilize LCA databases like Ecoinvent and research data and assumptions for impact hotspots and contribute to building and updating our product and impact databases.
- Perform LCA calculations with openLCA.
- Identify potential research institutes, assess their quality and methodology of LCA and CO2 databases and contact them for a potential collaboration.
- Identify and contact (green) producers to test our Impact Estimator tool and providing us data on their products.

**Requirements**:
**You're a fit because**:

- You are a student in science or technology (2nd+ semester).
- You are familiar with scientific language, able to extract the essence of scientific papers easily and like to sum up your research outcomes in an easily understandable way for everybody.
- Ideally, you have conducted LCAs before and have additional knowledge regarding other sustainability areas (e.g. carbon accounting, biodiversity, land and water use or packaging).
- You are exceptionally self-motivated, hands-on and most of all a great team-player : ).
- You are fluent in spoken and written English, German is a plus.
