**Environmental Health and Safety Senior Specialist (M/F/d)**

Full-time, as soon as possible

Reporting to the Director EHS, the EHS Senior Specialist will be responsible for specific environmental health and safety programs and compliance for the Biologics manufacturing site Krems, Austria. **Key attributes of the position**:

- Provide technical support and coordination in defining and implementing site EH&S systems for the site. This entails guiding and directing site support efforts, communicating to the site staff and subgroups and providing in addition to obtaining site EH&S inputs where required.
- Prioritize EH&S related risks and develop and assist with implementing corrective action and preventive action plans. Monitor and communicate overall status of plans to Site Management.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with other EHS staff, Engineering and Operations personnel to leverage best practices and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure ongoing evaluation of changes in Safety Regulatory requirements. Develop and implement site positions and strategies to ensure 100% compliance with all current and future safety requirements as and when they arise.
- Ensure that site systems are in place to maintain 100% site compliance with all Safety and Environmental Regulations and Programs and that they are aligned with global safety and environment expectations.
- Establish and maintain excellent communication processes to ensure management, occupational health, and affected employees understand the workplace hazards, exposures and accompanying risks, as well as the needed control strategies.
- Provide technical support for new projects and modifications to ensure proper EH&S design review as well as routine / maintenance evaluation after process / equipment installed / implemented.
- Conduct independent inspections of facilities and practices, as required, for conformance with Site, Corporate and/or Statutory safety requirements. Ensure Operations are carried out in accordance with required standards of safety and in adherence to all relevant Company Policies and Procedures.
- Develop and implement effective EH&S-related training programs for both management and employees.

**Qualification and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or safety related technical discipline or equivalent qualification
- Experience in a similar role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of EU and Austrian EHS laws and regulatory framework
- Relevant professional certification(s) in EHS
- Lean/Six Sigma experience desirable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- High ethical standards, being a role model of business compliance and integrity
- Proven ability to prioritize, focus on and obtain business results
- Demonstrated analytical and logical problem-solving abilities
- Fluency in written and spoken German and English
