At KAI (Kompetenzzentrum Automobil
- und Industrieelektronik GmbH), you will perform your thesis project in an industrial research environment, guided and supported by experienced researchers. We work in close cooperation with universities and research facilities supporting your academic education, whereas our industrial partner Infineon offers interesting opportunities for a prospective career path in the semiconductor industry.

In your new role, you are part of the
**international engineering team **at our site in Villach.

In this position you will:

- Deepen your knowledge in **power electronics**:

- Expand your understanding of important **device behaviors **, such as the **avalanche breakdown **in **power transistors**:

- Learn how to extract **parasitic impedances **from a given **power electronic circuit**:

- Investigate the behavior of two different **hardware implementations **through **simulations**:

- Develop a solution to improve the **avalanche behavior **within the **power electronic circuits**

Type of employment: Temporary / Full-time (flexible working hours from Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.)

Duration: min. 8 months

**This thesis has to be written in cooperation with an university.**

You are best equipped for this task, if you:

- Have a Bachelor degree and most of your Master courses finished in **Electrical Engineering **(or similar degree)
- Are able to read and understand a **electronic schematic **and **layout documents**:

- Have a great interest in and prior know-how in **power electronics **, preferable you are attending a power electronics related Master’s course.
- Have basic knowledge about the **avalanche breakdown behavior **of **transistors**:

- Know how to simulate an **electronic circuit**:

- Are **self-motivated **and ready to work with a **flexible time schedule **that suits your curriculum as well as our project requirements
- Speak good **English **and possibly German and are able to work as well as collaborate within an **international team **of **researchers**

- Highest completed educational certificate (Matura certificate for Bachelor students, Bachelor certificate for Master students)
