**About you**
With your exceptional technical expertise in engineering and/or materials, you are eager to drive the sustainable transformation of the industry for the global leader in refractories. As a communicative team player, you excel in the execution of complex tasks in a multidisciplinary and diverse work environment. You are target-oriented and agile, bringing technical developments from the idea to the industrial implementation. In a post-Covid19 environ-ment you are ready to travel to international cooperation partners, production sites and conferences up to 20% of your work time.
**In addition, you have**:
- Higher technical education (ideally PhD in either physics, process engineering, earth sciences, materials science, or similar course of studies)
- Basic knowledge and experience in mineral waste management and regulations
- Fundamental knowledge of sensor-based sorting technologies
- Basic programming skills (e.g., python, Matlab, VBA)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading technical projects, ideally related to refractories (or PhD)
- Experience in cooperating with external partners will be considered an asset
- Fluency in English, verbally and in writing (German is an asset)
**About the job**
**Your tasks will include**:
- Management of research work packages within a Horizon Europe project
- Comprehensive characterization of spent refractory material
- Support the development of an automated sorting equipment for mineral waste
- Generation of required inputs for life cycle assessment and techno economic analysis
- Lead collaborations for the development of alternative products
- Support the regular project reporting to the European Commission
