Head of Quality Control, Virology

**About the role**:
Responsibility for product release testing for the absence of virus from various recombinant products and vaccines. The cell culture-based virus test is performed in accordance with GMP regulations at the Global Center-of-Excellence Pathogen Safety in Vienna.

**How you will contribute**:

- You are responsible for quality control testing for the absence of virus (cell culture-based assays applied under GMP) and contact person for related activities (deviations, changes, lab investigation etc.)
- Leading a team of dedicated and well-educated and -trained technical staff.
- Writing of validation documents and/or summarizing of validation data
- Prepare and maintain quality agreements
- Preparation of documents (incl. special docs) at regulatory request, e.g. submission documents, and viral risk assessments for biological products and product intermediates
- Development and implementation of new pathogen detection assays used to demonstrate the safety margin of the company’s products. Experimental work includes work with genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
- Appropriate representation of the responsibilities at authority audits

**What you bring to Takeda**:

- Masters' degree or higher in relevant field of natural sciences.
- Experience in biochemical methodology, especially with those that relate to the plasma and biotech manufacturing industry, plus experience in working with cell culture and infectious viruses.
- Professional experience in quality management, ideally in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Knowledge of the global regulatory environment.
- Leadership experience, people management skills and strong communication skills
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English (ability to write clear and concise reports) and German
