Your Responsibilities

The Lab Support Facility (LSF) of IST Austria supports experimental scientists by providing
necessary laboratory infrastructure and technical support, laboratory safety, laboratory cleaning
and waste disposal as well as common resources like cell culture facilities. Our team ensures
access to common infrastructure equipment, ranging from refrigerators and centrifuges to high
end plate readers and pipetting platforms.

Monitoring of technical needs in laboratories and development of appropriate solutions (e.g. supply
with technical gases)
Coordination of technical laboratory supplies (e.g. dry ice, ice, cold storage, technical gases, etc.) including vendor contacts and price negotiations
Technical checks and maintenance of LSF infrastructure equipment including documentation
Collection, storage, and disposal of hazardous laboratory waste
Training of scientists on usage rules of infrastructure machinery and consumables
Material management (goods receipt, documentation, distribution between buildings)
Conception and implementation of rules/guidelines/SOPs to optimize LSF operations
Recording of costs and utilization of LSF infrastructure and compilation of same for budget
proposals

Your Profile

Technical vocational training or similar education in relevant field
Work experience in relevant environment and good computer skills (MS Office)
Good command of English (working language) and German
Very good communications skills for interaction with various internal and external partners
Conceptual and organizational skills that allow independent work
Goal-oriented working style for a timely handling of tasks and service-oriented approach
