**Main purpose of the job**:
Assures design & system services as a supplier to engineering considering customer specific design criteria / requirements.

Specification of all design & engineering system equipment, data transfer methods and maintenance thereof.

**Main missions and results**:

- Plans, organises, and conducts activities within its area in an effective manner towards achieving common objectives of IAC (name of plant) as well as the IAC Group.
- Reports deviations from the standard and takes appropriate measures and corrective actions.
- Take action to achieve the operational objectives set out in indicators (KPIs).
- Supervise design personnel within its responsibility.
- Supervise design personnel both directly hired and contracted.
- Supervise design personnel, including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and conducting disciplinary actions for staff within its responsibility.
- Maintain effective level of design and support resources.
- Provide quote input for design services.
- Responsible for budget planning and cost control of design department.
- Responsible for control cost of design department expenditure of resources.
- Provide for design resolution as an extension of and in cooperation with engineering commodity manager.
- Ensuring that the relevant design systems and infrastructure are in place to support new programs in the most cost-effective manner.
- Maintain effective level of internal & external design and support resources.
- Support Program RFQ's with internal and external quotes.
- Provide for design resolution as an extension of and in cooperation with Manager Product Engineering.
- Support design reviews & feasibility studies.
- Ensuring that the relevant design systems and infrastructure are up to date to support programs in the most cost, time & quality effective manner.
- Lead PDM/PLM workflow definition & maintenance.
- Lead development & implementation of design best practices (parametric).
- Support VAVE activities.
- Support Program RFQs.

**Preferred Skills and Experience**:

- 8 years' experience in automotive instrument panel or interior trim design on managerial positions or 12 years' experience in interior product CAD design on superior / managerial positions
- Bachelor and/or Diploma degree in design, plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent job-related experience
- Experience in Surface Development desirable
- Expert in major CAD & customer specific engineering systems applicable to automotive product design
- Expert in CAD design / visualization tools
- Demonstrated excellent management and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of company product and manufacturing processes.
- Fluent English
