Your personal sphere of influence:

As a University Assistant (Praedoc), you will work at the Institute of European Ethnology, which is very well-connected with universities and cultural institutions in Austria and internationally. You will collaborate with colleagues engaged in a wide range of research and academic teaching, contributing to a vibrant environment of research groups focusing on ethnography, materiality, urban/spatial studies, and multimodal/audiovisual research established at the institute. The topic of your doctoral thesis should fall within the scope of the research area historical dimensions of everyday cultures.

The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.

Completed Master's degree or Diploma, in the field European Ethnology or a related empirical cultural studies disciplin

  Professional competence in European Ethnology and historical cultural analysis, anthropology of knowledge, and/or urban anthropolog- y
  methodological competence in methods in ethnography and/or historical cultural analysi- s

  High ability to express yourself both orally and in writin- g
  Excellent command of written and spoken Englis- h
  IT user skill- s
  Ability to work in a tea- m
