The Department of Network & Data Science at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher position based in Vienna, under the supervision of Prof. Federico Battiston. The position is for 2 years with potential for extension.

We are seeking a highly motivated computational social scientist or social data scientist with experience analysing large-scale datasets and strong statistical and computational skills, alongside familiarity with network science and complex systems. Please note that this call is not aimed at researchers focusing on network theory or dynamical systems.

Research Areas

Candidates' research background should align with at least one of the following areas:

• Science of Science – e.g. scientific careers, collaboration networks, interdisciplinarity, team science, the evolution of scientific domains.
• Sport Analytics – e.g. performance analytics, collective behavior in sports, advanced sport statistics.
• Human Behaviour – e.g. computational studies of individual or collective behavior, social interactions, socio-cognitive processes.

We are particularly interested in senior postdocs who are motivated to take a leadership role: helping to grow Federico's lab in these directions, coordinating projects in these areas, and contributing to supervision and mentoring of students. Junior postdocs and final-year PhD students, with proven experience in these areas or strong motivation to pursue these research directions, are also very welcome to apply.

What CEU Offers

This is a fully funded position, paid according to the FWF Postdoc wage group, with a yearly gross salary of approximately €69, h/week). 5. Two representative papers, preferentially first-authored, or those that best align with this call. If you are not the first author, please specify in your statement your contribution to that work.
