At the Sulzbach-Rosenberg site, Fraunhofer UMSICHT develops plants, processes and manufacturing methods for the carbonization of biomass and biogenic waste and residual materials. The working group "Preparation of thermochemical conversion products" deals with possible applications of the biochar produced in this process.
