Project Developer – Utility-Scale Solar (Austria)

Our client is a well-backed renewable energy developer rapidly expanding its project pipeline across Austria. They're looking for a Project Developer who wants to take ownership of their own pipeline, close municipal engagement, and the chance to take projects from first idea through to construction readiness.

This is a lean, entrepreneurial environment; decisions are fast, the team is supportive, and strong performers have clear room to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Support the identification, evaluation and securing of suitable sites for large-scale ground-mounted PV projects across Austria
  • Assist in land-rights negotiations together with the legal team
  • Coordinate grid connection and grid-compatibility requests with Austrian network operators
  • Build and maintain relationships with approving authorities, municipalities, landowners, utilities and other key stakeholders
  • Drive the permitting and approval process in line with Austrian planning rules up to RTB
  • Present project concepts to municipalities and support local negotiation processes
  • Manage external consultants, planning partners and development contractors
  • Take responsibility for project reporting, timelines, and budget oversight

Profile Sought

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (renewables, environmental sciences, geography, agriculture, law, economics, engineering etc.)
  • Structured, proactive and adaptable, with the ability to take ownership and solve problems quickly
  • Experience in renewable energy project development in Austria, ideally with a local stakeholder network
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with confidence in municipal and landowner discussions
  • Fluent German and strong English; additional languages an advantage
  • Comfortable travelling across Austria and working independently
