What You'll Do:
Austrian Taxation & Compliance
• Prepare & submit Austrian VAT (Umsatzsteuer) returns, including monthly & quarterly filings, annual adjustments and managing complex VAT scenarios.
• Prepare Austrian corporate income tax (Körperschaftsteuer) returns, including calculations, advance payments & final settlements.
• Perform CFC (Controlled Foreign Company) calculations to determine Austrian taxation of foreign subsidiaries.
• Manage Windfall Tax compliance, including calculations, reporting & optimisation strategies.
• Handle Stamp Duty (Rechtsgeschäftsgebühren) obligations, including assessment, preparation& timely submission.
• Ensure compliance with Austrian withholding tax obligations & real state tax (where applicable).
International Tax Compliance Oversight
• Monitor & review tax compliance processes for other countries where the group operates, ensuring deadlines & accuracy are met.
• Liaise with local finance teams & external advisors to address country-specific tax issues.
• Consolidate & report on global compliance status to management.
• Support implementation of consistent tax compliance standards & controls across jurisdictions.
Tax Reporting & Provision Calculation
• Prepare quarterly & annual tax provisions, in line with IFRS & Austrian GAAP.
• Perform tax reconciliations, deferred tax calculations & effective tax rate analysis.
• Ensure accurate tax disclosures in group & local financial statements.
• Prepare internal & external tax reports for management and regulatory authorities.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
• Develop, implement & maintain internal controls for all Austrian and international tax processes.
• Manage Austrian & international tax audits, inquiries & correspondence with authorities.
• Monitor legislative changes in Austria & other relevant jurisdictions, assessing their impact on the business.
Advisory & Strategic Support
• Provide tax advisory support on Austrian & cross-border transactions, investments & restructurings.
• Work with finance, legal & operations teams to ensure tax efficiency in group operations.
• Collaborate with external advisors and participate in industry forums to share best practices.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or Law.
- Professional qualification (e.g., Steuerberater) is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Detailed experience in Austrian taxation, ideally with exposure to international tax compliance.
- Prior experience in (or willingness to learn) Austrian VAT preparation, corporate income tax return preparation, Windfall Tax, Stamp Duty and CFC calculations (and their Austrian tax implications).
- Strong knowledge of tax reporting and provision calculations under IFRS & Austrian GAAP.
- Understanding of cross-border tax compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management abilities.
- Proactive, independent & detail-oriented approach to work.
- German: Fluent (mandatory), English: Business proficiency.

In accordance with the Austrian collective agreement for employees in information and consulting, the minimum gross monthly salary for this full-time position (40 hours/week) is €3,070. Please note that this is a legal requirement to state, but your actual compensation will be based on your qualifications and professional experience, and we would be happy to discuss it with you personally.
