About the Project

Join a leading energy initiative driving Austria's renewable transition. This long-term freelance opportunity offers the chance to work on the construction and commissioning of cutting-edge renewable energy projects in and around Vienna. As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring technical compliance, safety, and timely delivery of project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise installation and construction activities for renewable energy assets (wind turbines, solar PV systems, substations).
  • Ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and Austrian regulations.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and HSE audits.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support commissioning and handover processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3–5 years of site engineering experience in renewable energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of wind or solar construction processes and grid connection requirements.
  • Familiarity with Austrian building codes and HSE regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera).
  • German and English language skills preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with HV/MV substations and electrical infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy standards and best practices.
