They enable holidaymakers and outdoor enthusiasts from more than 137 countries to book over 12,000 activities – including skiing & snowboarding, rafting & canyoning, paragliding & ballooning, diving & surfing, jet skiing, boat trips and many more.

It is an ambitious growth company with an international team dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for their customers.

To support their growth plans they're looking for a motivated Junior Backend Developer to become an integral part of their product team. If you enjoy a dynamic, impactful role in a fun and agile environment, this company is the place for you.

THEIR WAY OF WORKING

They interact directly with people across the company, from the founders to marketing, business development, and customer happiness teams. Every product team member gets the chance to quickly take over responsibility and directly impact their product and the millions of people using it.

They work with React, Redux, Less, Webpack in the front-end and Microservices based on and Java Spring in the back-end.

Their architecture is built on scalable micro services and is running in the Amazon Web Services cloud.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the development team to implement features and maintain the backend architecture.
  • Assist in the development of new applications and features with end-to-end involvement under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Write and maintain integration and unit tests to ensure the delivery of reliable and high-quality software.
  • Support efforts to optimize the performance, security, and scalability of the platform.
  • Learn and stay updated with current technology trends and best practices to contribute effectively to the team's goals.
  • Take part in code reviews, actively seek feedback, and continuously improve your coding skills.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 2 years of professional experience in Java development 
  • Exposure to Spring framework or willingness to learn it quickly.
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and SQL querying.
  • Interest in improving coding standards, processes, and tools in collaboration with the team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Fluency in English as the working language; knowledge of German is a plus.
