MiFID Risk Expert/ Manager

Note: This role is preferably to be based in Vienna (open to Remote working, case by case)

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish, implement and maintain adequate risk management policies and procedures which identify the risks relating to the firm's activities, processes and systems;
• Set the level of risk tolerated by the firm (risk appetite);
• Adopt effective arrangements, processes and mechanismsto manage the risks relating to the firm's activities, processes and systems, in light of that leevel of risk tolerance;
• Monitor the:
• adequacy and effectiveness of the investment firm's risk mnanagement policies and procedures;
• level of compliance by the firm and its relevant persons with the arrangements, processes and mechanisms adopted in accordance with risk management policiesand procedures;
• adequacy and effectiveness of measures taken to address any deficciencies in those policies, procedures, arrangements, processes and mechanisms, including failurres by the relevant persons to comply with such arrangements, processes and mechanisms or follow suchpolicies and procedures.
• Provision of regular written reports (at least annually) on rissk management matters indicating in particular whether the appropriate remedial measures have been taken in theevent of any deficiencies:
• Advice to senior management;
• Daily oversight of the effectiveness of the risk management process and the measures setup to mitigate risk;
• Participation in meetings with the supervisory authority;
• Ongoing coordination with the global risk management tearm.

Requirements:

• University degree in finance, risk management or comparable qualification
• Additional training specific to risk management
• At least 10 years of professional experience, in a risk management function at a bank or investment firm.
• A profound knowledge of MiFID II and its implementation in Austria, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Strong mathematical and technical skills
• Strong product knowledge and experience with financial instrumentits, especially derivatives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment
• This position is preferably based in Austria, Vienna
