There is currently one permanent full-time position available. About the TAFE Central Regional TAFE is responsible for delivering customer focused, industry aligned training and pathways to higher education to build a skilled, productive and employment ready workforce. We deliver 185 courses to 10,000 students each year in the Mid West region - Geraldton, Batavia Coast Maritime Institute and Technology Park, the Gascoyne region - Carnarvon and Exmouth, the Goldfields region – Kalgoorlie and the Wheatbelt region - Northam, Merredin and Moora. About the role A lecturer’s primary role is to teach, facilitate learning and conduct assessment in traditional, new and innovative ways to a diverse range of clients. Lecturers will also be involved in the provision of consultancy, information and promotional services to industry, prospective students and community clients. To support this process the TAFE environment offers comprehensive industry based Training Packages and an underpinning quality system that provides a framework for delivery and assessment. To be successful in this role you will have a Certificate III in Automotive in either Heavy Commercial (Heavy Diesel), Plant Mechanical, or Agricultural Mechanical Technology, along with extensive industry experience. The successful applicant will also have at least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position with an ability to facilitate and encourage learning. It is preferred that applicants already possess a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher recognised teaching qualification) or can demonstrate progression towards the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent). Likewise, should the substantive occupant wish to extend their maternity leave or return on a part time basis, the College may seek to extend your contract, and with your agreement at an FTE to be negotiated.
