Senior Workshop Technician (Electrician) – Diesel Generators & Lighting Towers Location: Wangara, PerthRate: $65–$75 per hour + SuperEmployment Type: Full-time (Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm) Company A national leader in professional-grade power-generation solutions, supporting mission-critical industries across Australia. The company specialises in diesel generator sets (5.5 kVA to multi-megawatt), mobile LED lighting towers, load banks, temporary-power distribution systems and engineered power solutions. Their equipment supports major construction, mining and resources, shutdown work, industrial sites, O&G, utilities, FM providers, electrical contractors and emergency services. Opportunity Due to strong ongoing demand, the business is seeking an Electrician with generator experience to join their Wangara workshop. This role is ideal for an electrically qualified technician with strong diagnostics capability who enjoys hands-on work, steady hours, and a well-run workshop environment. The position is primarily workshop-based with occasional local site work for commissioning, diagnostics or repairs (travel reimbursed). Key Responsibilities Carry out pre-delivery inspections on diesel generators and lighting towers Perform scheduled servicing, electrical repairs and corrective maintenance Diagnose and fault-find electrical issues, control panel faults and safety circuits Test-run equipment and complete commissioning tasks to manufacturer standards Wire, repair and configure generator control systems and ancillary components Maintain workshop tools, equipment and safe work procedures Complete service records, job cards and test documentation accurately Attend customer sites within Perth for breakdowns, installations or diagnostics (reimbursed) What You Must Bring Qualified Electrician (mandatory) – A-Grade / Electrical Licence Hands‑on generator experience (2+ years preferred) Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills Experience with generator control panels, ATS systems and safety circuits Ability to work independently in a busy workshop environment High attention to detail and strong safety mindset Current driver’s licence (Note: Diesel mechanics without an electrical licence are not suitable for this position.)
