Catholic Education Office Diocese of Wollongong – Edmondson Park NSW St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1500 students in 2025. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis was founded in 2017 and offers new, state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities. A temporary full time position commencing 27 January 2026 until 17 December 2026, for the period of the 27 January 2026 until the 3 April 2026, this position is a parental leave replacement position. The successful applicant will be required to teach Geography (Years 7-10). The role of the Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students to reach their full potential. Essential Selection Criteria Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church. Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L. Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning. Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Geography and possibly the HSIE curriculum. Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning. Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community. Desirable Selection Criteria Experience in teaching Geography (Years 7-10) General Capabilities Well‑developed interpersonal skills. Well‑developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organisational skills. Qualifications Appropriate qualifications for teaching Key Learning Area (s). Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW. The applicant must be accredited to teach with NESA. Working with Children's Clearance This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
