We’re looking for a full-time Prep Chef / Kitchen Hand to join our small, close-knit team at Ra Restaurant & Bar in Sunshine Beach. You’ll support our chefs with day-to-day prep and keep the kitchen running smoothly during busy service. Some previous kitchen experience is required – But we’ll teach you everything you need to know. All we ask is that you bring a good attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn. This is a permanent position with a minimum working period of 3 months. What you’ll be doing Preparing and portioning ingredients for our chefs Assisting with basic food prep (chopping, slicing, dicing, batching sauces, etc.) Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and well‑stocked Washing dishes and maintaining a tidy work area Cleaning equipment, benches and floors to a high standard Following all food safety and hygiene procedures Supporting the kitchen team wherever needed during service About you A strong work ethic and eagerness to learn Able to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment Good attention to detail and pride in doing things properly Reliable, punctual and comfortable working evenings and weekends Positive, team‑focused attitude Understanding of food safety and hygiene is a bonus (training provided) Full work rights in Australia and able to commit to at least 3 months What we offer Permanent, stable hours in a supportive, friendly team Award‑based pay, with increases as your skills grow Structured training in prep, food safety and kitchen operations Opportunities for progression for the right person (line cook / chef roles) Staff meals and generous dining discounts A workplace that genuinely values wellbeing and teamwork About Ra Restaurant & Bar Ra is a vibrant Sri Lankan‑inspired restaurant in the heart of Sunshine Beach, focused on home‑style curries, shared plates and relaxed, social dining using local produce.
