Oppenheimer integrates innovation, technical excellence, and science-based solutions to support global food manufacturers.This role offers the opportunity to work within our headquarters’ R&D Centre and pilot facility, collaborating closely with experienced food technologists and scientists on real-world product applications. Key Responsibilities Prepare ingredient and product samples for testing, matching, and internal evaluation. Assist with physical and sensory assessments (e.g. texture, colour, flavour, appearance). Conduct basic analytical testing (e.g. moisture, pH, or viscosity) under supervision. Organise and label incoming and outgoing samples accurately. Organise shipment of samples within Australia and globally Use ERP systems and Nutrition software tools to input and extract data Evaluating new raw materials and sourcing quotes Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory workspace, following hygiene and safety procedures. Record data, observations, and results clearly in accordance with company systems. Support technologists in preparing trial materials, batching mixes, and documenting outcomes. Assist with sample dispatch, storage, and stock control of ingredients and packaging. Assist Food Safety Team Leader if needed. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing, quality, or R&D support environment. Minimum certificate IV or Diploma in Food Science & Technology, or equivalent TAFE qualification. A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field is advantageous. Sound understanding of food handling, measurement, and testing procedures. Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable performing routine laboratory or kitchen-based tasks. Strong record-keeping, data accuracy, and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs). Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic data entry tools. Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia.
