Role Overview Senior Software Engineer focused on bringing our Java and Kubernetes based applications to cloud. Nuix Neo Local, Cloud and SaaS are built on Kubernetes and AWS. Nuix Neo integrates our capabilities into a unified product platform with a goal of deployability anywhere. This role operates in a highly collaborative agile environment. You will develop world-class products, mentor team members, and maintain a deep architectural understanding. You will collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Architects, and the broader organization to deliver products that benefit Nuix and our customers. The role is based in Sydney and requires attendance in the office a minimum of 3 days per week with the option to work remotely or from the Sydney office for the remaining 2 days. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Lead and influence strategy around platform and service architectures Product Engineering: Plan and develop new capabilities to Nuix Engineering standards, focusing on SaaS and cloud enablement of the Nuix Neo platform Collaboration: Work within and across teams to develop a cohesive deploy-your-way platform Technical Excellence: Participate in planning, backlog grooming, and technical design discussions; document features thoroughly; maintain high code quality; conduct and participate in code reviews Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and implement best practices Support & Growth: Provide maintenance support and actively pursue learning opportunities Skills, Knowledge and Expertise What We’re Looking For Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline Experience: 7+ years of experience with cloud, developing and operating a SaaS product in a Kubernetes ecosystem. AWS and production SaaS operations experience highly desirable. Experience with IaC, cloud automation, observability, cost optimization, and reliability engineering is highly desirable. Java or experience with another programming language is useful.
