Our residential services offer a 12-week structured rehabilitation program designed to assist our clients in recovering from the effects of their dependence on alcohol and other drugs. We provide intensive treatment that integrates various therapeutic elements and supports to achieve recovery goals in a comfortable and safe home environment. You will work to connect our clients with relevant support services to help them address related issues, including family and other relationships, as well as emotional and physical health. You will provide holistic support throughout all aspects of the client journey. A key aspect of this role involves delivering case management that focuses on client needs and promotes their capacity for independence. Your experience in case management and support work will be crucial to your success in this position. This is a Permanent, Part- time (30 hours per week) position in Cairns , situated in a 24-hour residential facility. You will have a variety of shifts that include days, afternoons, nights, and weekends. To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria : Minimum Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Knowledge of and ability to work within relevant legislation and guidelines relating to the delivery of case management and safety and risk within the program area of operation Previous experience as a Support Worker or equivalent within the program area of operation Personal aptitude for working within set guidelines and adhering to all relevant policies and procedures Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisation skills including the ability to exercise judgement and contribute to a team environment Ability to deliver advocacy on behalf of clients and ensure confidentiality of client information at all times Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society COVID-19 vaccination status is recommended for this role but not a mandatory requirement.
