About the facility Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac. Paediatric Ward Children's Services at University Hospital provides care to the Geelong community and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to innovative, holistic family‑centred care. Children’s Ward is a vibrant, 28‑bed general paediatric unit caring for infants, children and adolescents with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. The newly‑renovated, family‑oriented unit allows for parents and carers to stay and be actively involved with their child’s care during the admission. A large children’s playroom and a part‑time play leader are also features of the ward allowing patients and their siblings play time which is an important aspect of children’s health and recovery. About the role We are seeking a Ward Clerk to join our Children's Ward; we have a fixed‑term part‑time position (10hrs per week). This role will include shifts rostered Monday to Sunday AM & PM shifts. You will be responsible for providing high standard of support and assistance to patients, visitors and caregivers and directing queries accordingly. You will need excellent verbal and written communication, that include health related skills. You will have a knowledge of medical terminology and excellent attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
