Software Quality Engineer - Medical Devices Axxin develop platforms and diagnostic products for biomedical applications, that bridge the gap from research to market with world leading innovation, capability, and cost effectiveness. Axxin has established itself as an early leader in commercialising diagnostic delivery systems in partnership with leading biomedical and pharmaceutical companies. Our products have sophisticated touch screen-based user interfaces, running on dedicated custom designed hardware. Our products are regulated and have safety critical requirements - testing and verification is an essential part of what we do. About You This is a position for an early career candidate with good analytical and communication skills. A demonstrated approach to clear thinking and problem solving is required as well as the ability to fluently explain and navigate complex engineering concepts. The successful candidate will be practical, well organised, self‑motivated and enthusiastic about hands‑on work with medical devices. If you have come from a software testing background this would be highly regarded. Exposure and experience with test automation, or software development would be an advantage. Skills and Experience Valued Background in test automation or software development (Python preferred) Experience building and executing automated test suites using CI/CD methodologies Experience using Gauge to perform end‑to‑end testing Experience using Postman to test REST API Experience writing automation scripts for REST API tests The Role This is an exciting new opportunity in our Software Quality Assurance team to join us in creating industry‑leading products. We are looking for someone to work in the Software Quality Assurance team, alongside software and product development groups, to improve our products and ensure they meet strict functional, performance and quality requirements. At our office in Eaglemont, VIC, you will be working alongside a great team that is integral to our success. If you enjoy collaborative work, thinking through challenging problems, and finding ways to improve how we do things, then this role will suit you well. The main activities you would perform include Writing code for test automation activities, predominantly in Python. Analysis of device, software and system requirements Preparation and execution of test plans and protocols Management of product defects and reporting on the status of these defects Preparation of test reports Code reviews Training and skill development will be provided in the following areas: Safety critical software development processes and methods for medical devices. ISO13485 / IEC62304 quality assurance standards Test automation, unit testing and black box testing The role will develop your skills in software testing, as well as quality assurance systems and procedures. Professional Requirements Excellent spoken and written English is essential. Australian citizen or Australian Resident status must exist at time of application.
