About The Role BMA Goonyella Riverside Mine are currently seeking qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitters. As part of the maintenance crew, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of heavy mining equipment and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Carry out maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a wide range of fixed and mobile plant equipment including conveyors, pumps, crushers, draglines, and CHPP infrastructure. Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance in accordance with site procedures and schedules. Fault finding, diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS systems. Work collaboratively with other trades and production teams to minimise downtime and enhance equipment reliability. Maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards at all times. About You Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent). Experience in a coal mining or heavy industrial environment. Proficient with fault‑finding and troubleshooting large fixed plant and mobile equipment. Knowledge of maintenance procedures for conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and bearings. Current coal board medical and Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain). Strong safety focus and a proactive approach to risk management. Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
