About the Role The Senior Category Manager (ICT) is responsible for developing, leading, and executing category plans and sourcing activities based on research and analysis to optimise value‑for‑money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations. Duties Lead and manage procurement staff and cross‑functional procurement teams to successfully deliver procurement business plans and achieve optimal outcomes from procurement activity. Apply the procurement governance and risk management framework to monitor compliance, manage risk and improve procurement activity and performance. Lead procurement activities, including negotiations on high‑impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver better category outcomes. Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement and the procurement category, to encourage innovative practices and support delivery of business and policy directions. Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes. Skills & Experience Tertiary level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through practical experience. Extensive experience managing large enterprises and stakeholders, large spend and complex business categories. Experience in a commercial role and exposure to vendor relationship management.
