Classroom Teacher - Mathematics (RRI 049) Department of Education Victoria – Mildura VIC Our school's values are Resilient Compassionate Successful Citizens . Red Cliffs Secondary College is the only Year 7‑12 Government Secondary College in the Mildura area and caters for students from a variety of socio‑economic backgrounds. The College offers comprehensive, sequential courses in all key curriculum areas and a wide range of VET subjects, both onsite and through partner providers. Students have frequent opportunities for public performance at events such as Awards Night, Mildura Eisteddfods, and bi‑annual variety performances at the Mildura Arts Centre. Red Cliffs Secondary College also hosts the area’s Flexible Learning Option (FLO Connect), providing alternative educational options for regional students. Selection Criteria SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy, with experience responding to student learning needs. SC2: Experience planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student growth. SC3: Experience monitoring student learning, using data to inform practice, and providing feedback to students and parents. SC4: Interpersonal and communication skills with a record of collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community. SC5: Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values; continuous professional learning and reflection on practice. Role The classroom teacher will plan, prepare, and teach Mathematics for Years 7‑12, aiming to achieve specific student outcomes. Teachers at both Range 1 and Range 2 will support the school’s strategic plan and policy implementation, with Range 2 teachers expected to mentor lower‑range teachers, supervise student teachers, and use data to drive improvement, while Range 1 teachers focus on classroom management, subject content, and the development of their teaching skills. Responsibilities Direct teaching of student groups and individual students. Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas. Undertaking classroom teaching‑related and organisational duties as directed by the Principal. Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions. Providing non‑teaching supervisory duties where required. Who May Apply Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach Mathematics. Payments and Support (RRI) Reimbursement of relocation expenses up to $5,000. Retention payments of $10,000 (before‑tax) up to a total of $30,000 across the second, third and fourth years of employment, subject to completion of milestones. Qualification Requirements Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching. Completion of a recognised post‑graduate initial teaching program on or after 1 January 2024. For ITE graduates after 1 July 2016, demonstration of LANTITE completion.
