About the Role We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands‑on Skipper to join Yumbah Mussel Holdings, Australia’s largest mussel farming operation, based in Port Lincoln. This vibrant coastal city is renowned for its stunning natural environment, excellent fishing, seafood culture and relaxed way of life. The role is responsible for safely navigating and operating mussel farming vessels up to 18 m, leading and supporting a small crew and taking on the full range of Skipper responsibilities. The successful candidate will have Master 24 m Near Coastal qualification. We’ll provide the training, mentoring and support to grow your skills and build a long‑term career in a business that invests in its people. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain farm vessels across operations. Support harvesting operations, ensuring safe handling and transport of mussels. Manage upkeep of records and necessary documentation. Communicate effectively with management, crew and transport drivers. Supervise and assist with maintenance as necessary. Take on increasing responsibility for supervising and training crew. Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainable farming practices. Qualifications/Experience Aquaculture/Mussel farming experience ideal. Eager to learn about mussel farming essential. Able to lead and develop teams. Physically fit, adaptable and ready to work in all weather conditions. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Commitment to learning, growing and building a career with Yumbah.
