Magnetic Maritime are currently seeking expressions of interest from highly motivated Master 4 and Marine Engine Drivers If you are successful in your application, you will be joining our team to assist in the safe, efficient and reliable crewing of a Ro‑Ro Car Ferry that operates daily between Townsville and Magnetic Island. Qualifications & experience For Master Applying: Master 4 Certification of Proficiency for VHF Radio Operations Current First Aid and CPR AMSA 1850 – Certificate of medical fitness for near coastal seafarers White Card – General Construction Induction Card For Engineers Applying: MED 1 or 2 Current First Aid and CPR AMSA 1850 – Certificate of medical fitness for near coastal seafarers White Card – General Construction Induction Card General Purpose Hand (GPH NC) Tasks & responsibilities The Vessel is a 35m Ro‑Ro car/pax barge, we are equipped with a saloon bar which caters for light refreshments for our customers and there is plenty of outdoor seating. The vessel is powered by 4 Detroit main engines, 2 John Deere auxiliary engines, and is equipped with an onboard sewage treatment plant. As a Master you will be responsible for: The safe navigation between Townsville and Magnetic Island Direct a small crew with onboard drills and safe working practices Manage vessel Safety Management Manual As an Engineer you would be responsible for: Engine room checks and vessel systems checks. Assist in the daily maintenance and cleaning of the vessel. Maintain vessel MPM (Marine Planned Maintenance) Assist and direct in the safe and efficient loading and unloading of vehicles and trucks aboard the Car Ferry that operates daily between Townsville and Magnetic Island All crew must be available to work weekends and public holidays. Applicants must have good communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, be safety conscious and able to navigate around safety management systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
