Join Hanwha Defence Australia and play a pivotal role in shaping our procurement and subcontracting strategies for some of the nation’s most significant Defence projects. About the Role As Procurement & Subcontracts Manager , you’ll take a hands‑on role in coordinating procurement and subcontracting activities for key Defence programs. You’ll work closely with suppliers and project teams to develop sourcing strategies, manage RFx processes, and lead contract negotiations—ensuring compliance with ASDEFCON standards and delivering outcomes on time, to quality, and within budget . This is a practical, delivery‑focused role where you’ll guide day‑to‑day activities, mentor team members, and help drive continuous improvement across our supply chain. You can be based at our Melbourne CBD office or Avalon site , with flexibility to travel between both as needed. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of procurement and subcontract specialists. Develop and implement subcontracting strategies aligned with project objectives. Oversee RFx processes, contract negotiations, and supplier governance. Build strong supplier relationships and manage performance frameworks. Ensure compliance with Defence procurement legislation and risk management standards. Drive continuous improvement and contribute to future supply chain development. What We’re Looking For Solid experience in Defence procurement and subcontracting. Strong knowledge of ASDEFCON and complex contracting environments. Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and commercial management capability. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Requirements Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible for an Australian Government security clearance (minimum of BASELINE clearance level). Why Join Us?
