The Barista ensures consistent product quality, safe food handling, and excellent customer service. This role is essential to maintaining service standards and supporting business operations in a region with limited access to experienced café and hospitality workers. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Coffee & Beverage Preparation Prepare espresso‑based beverages (e.g., lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites) to consistent quality standards Operate and maintain commercial espresso machines and grinders Monitor coffee extraction, milk texturing, and presentation to ensure quality control Maintain stock levels for coffee, milk, and related supplies Customer Service Greet customers and take orders courteously and efficiently Upsell beverages and promotional products Provide accurate information about menu items Manage customer feedback professionally Food Handling & General Operations Follow all Red Rooster food safety, hygiene, and handling procedures Ensure the café/coffee station is clean, sanitised, and well‑presented Support front‑of‑house operations when required Teamwork & Safety Work collaboratively with shift supervisors and crew members Communicate effectively to maintain smooth service flow Follow WHS and safe equipment operation procedures Skills & Qualifications Essential Strong customer service skills Ability to work efficiently under pressure Good communication skills Willingness to follow standard procedures, training, and workplace policies Ability to work flexible hours, including peak periods and weekends Desirable Prior barista or café experience Experience with commercial coffee equipment Food Safety Certification (if available) #J-18808-Ljbffr
