Aged Care Social Support Visitor - have a Turkish chat over a coffee - Highton 3216 The Role The Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, connects volunteers with an older person who is feeling lonely and/or socially isolated, to build friendships and reduce feelings of loneliness. In your volunteer role you will be paired with an aging senior to provide them regular social support visits in their home. Activities during your visit are based on yours and your clients interests and could include conversation, playing board games, listening to music or sharing stories. Get to know someone new and make a difference in your local community Our Client This female in their 80's currently resides at their home in Highton however they are feeling socially isolated. She was born in Turkey and lived with her husband until 5 years ago. She loves to talk about travel and discuss other cultures while having a chat over a cuppa. They speak minimal English and are therefore seeking someone who speaks Turkish and ideally understands their culture.
