Child and Family Practitioner - The Orange Door Play a key role in supporting families and promoting child safety in the Barwon region. As a Child and Family Practitioner with Meli’s Orange Door team, you’ll provide critical support to women, children, and families experiencing family violence or facing challenges with care and wellbeing. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll deliver integrated, evidence-based responses that prioritise safety, stability, and positive outcomes for children and young people. About the Role As a Child and Family Practitioner , you will: Deliver screening, triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, and targeted interventions in line with the Integrated Practice Framework. Identify, assess, and prioritise risk and needs for women, children, families, and perpetrators, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team. Apply evidence-based frameworks such as BICPM and MARAM to promote the safety, stability, and wellbeing of children and young people. Provide targeted brief interventions, including single‑session work, home visits, assertive outreach, and case conferencing under guidance. What We’re Looking For A degree in Social Work (or equivalent);or be working towards in line with recommendation 209 of the Royal Commissioninto Family Violence. A sound knowledge of sector reforms, theoretical frameworks and relevant legislation. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high level of organisational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
