Group Reporting Manager

What we’re looking for Seeking a technically strong Group Reporting Manager / Financial Controller who is immediately available and seeking to commence a role prior to the new year. This is a contract role for an experienced and qualified candidate to assist with the half year audit and statutory reporting cycle, as well as act as lead for the implementation of a new financial ERP system. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced Financial Reporting lead or Financial Controller, with detailed knowledge of financial products businesses and AASB 9 control and reporting requirements. The contract is for an initial 3‑month period, with the potential to extend to 6 (six) months in total. We are a growing, dedicated finance team, working in a collaborative and vibrant technology‑driven office. Responsibilities A. Half Year Audit and Financial Reporting Assist the CFO with management of the half year audit requests and requirements to ensure the audit and financial statements are prepared and completed in line with audit and ASX reporting timetables. Take ownership of the half year financial statements to roll over and update the documents for the year end numbers, audit adjustments and note disclosures. Prepare new AASB 9 note disclosures. Document and assess existing accounting practices for financial products (P&I loans) in relation to AASB 9, consistent with peer companies’ approaches to revenue recognition, accounting for costs and provisioning. Identify opportunities to improve and streamline these processes. Identify information flows between the accounting systems and the loan management system and make recommendations for improvements and strengthening of controls. B. ERP System Implementation Act as lead contact with external consultancy responsible for implementation of new ERP system replacing existing MYOB system, including provision of data requests, co‑ordination and escalation of consultancy requests and queries, and completion of data quality and migration testing. Work with the CFO and financial team to identify and assess opportunities for process improvements in financial control and reporting activities as a result of the new system implementation. Ensure new system maintains and enhances existing financial control processes, focussing on the control and reporting of financial products and AASB 9 compliance. Work with the Senior Accountant to automate the production of the month end consolidated reporting process for the review and completion of monthly close requirements. Work with the Senior Accountant to review and implement new system BAS reporting changes. Work with the CFO to develop and implement enhanced management reporting processes enabled by the new system. Identify and document opportunities for automation of existing manual data uploads and incorporation of non-financial metrics. Agree prioritisation with C‑suite management team lead for the relevant areas. Assist external consultancy with provision of financial team training on the new system. Skills and qualifications University degree in business, accounting, or finance. CPA, CIMA or CA qualified. Experience in financial system change and implementation. Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application. Additional Requirements Deadline driven for audit and reporting requirements. Strong technical knowledge of AASB 9, credit provisioning, and securitisation reporting. Strong spreadsheet, analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Lateral thinker that can adapt and create practical solutions for new and value‑add processesp> Proficiency in MYOB and common ERP systems.
