Clinical Nurse Specialist (Vacancy d) The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for Clinical Nurse Specialist positions in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The role will be based in the Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub Tasmania service, delivering secondary level mental health assessment and interventions for infants, children, and their families. Responsibilities Deliver specialist services to CAMHS clients within a multidisciplinary framework, supporting community awareness of mental health. Provide clinical leadership and advanced practice for clients with complex mental health needs, applying national and agency standards. Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs and activities that improve client outcomes. Required Experience and Skills Extensive experience in mental health nursing with an understanding of child, adolescent, and family issues. Thorough knowledge of relevant legal, legislative, departmental, and professional standards. Proven ability to provide assessments and therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and families, with willingness to expand expertise. Details of Appointment Fixed‑term, full‑time day worker. 76 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP until 30 June 2026. Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary and Allowances Registered Nurse Grade 5: $109,767 – $115,813 per annum, plus 12% superannuation contribution. Post‑graduate allowance up to 10% based on qualification type. Benefits Travel and relocation assistance: up to $15,000 for overseas candidates, up to $10,000 for interstate candidates. Professional development and accelerated pathways. Carer Accredited Employer status – support for employees with caring responsibilities. Eligible Candidates Registered Nurse (RN) registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Current Working with Children registration. Desirable criteria include: Minimum 2 years of post‑graduate experience in a relevant area. Post‑graduate qualification or enrolment in a relevant program.
