We have a strong growth agenda and are always looking for top talent to join the pursuit of our vision to “unleash the economic potential of every idea” We’re a fast‑growing company, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Ruby on Rails Backend Engineer to join our team on a full‑time basis. Our engineering team is remote‑friendly but we work from our Surry Hills office 2‑3 times a week to collaborate. We’re looking for a candidate who is passionate about engineering and technology, can solve technical problems and is able to communicate problems and solutions with ease. What You’ll Be Doing Design and build RESTful APIs for our front‑end applications and partners Integrate with a range of external services such as Salesforce, Auth0, Cloudflare, and more Architect solutions that meet our high‑availability, security, and performance requirements Maintain our infrastructure on a major cloud provider to support our rapid growth Write well‑structured, tested, and documented code that’s a pleasure to maintain Work closely with our Product, Design, and other teams to refine deliverables and bring new features to life What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a passionate backend engineer who can solve complex technical problems and communicate solutions with ease. Required Experience Minimum 5 years of commercial Ruby on Rails experience Proven experience integrating with multiple external APIs Experience with database design and performance tuning, particularly with PostgreSQL Experience designing and maintaining infrastructure with AWS, GCP, or Heroku Experience with testing frameworks like RSpec Experience with high‑volume background job processing frameworks like Sidekiq Strong experience designing and maintaining both public and private REST APIs Proficiency with development tools like Linear or Jira Strong written and verbal communication skills Bonus Points Experience with security best practices (e.g., OWASP, STRIDE) Experience synchronising data between distributed systems Experience in high‑volume production environments with strict availability SLAs Knowledge of the financial services industry (lending or corporate finance) Experience navigating GDPR and/or SOC2 Benefits & Culture We’re a remote‑friendly team, but if you prefer an office environment, our Surry Hills space is open, dog‑friendly, and empowering.
