Our client is seeking an experienced Risk Management Lead to play a pivotal role in strengthening enterprise risk maturity within a large, complex Victorian public sector organisation undergoing significant transformation. Reporting to a senior assurance and integrity leader, this role provides authoritative advice on strategic, operational and project risk, supports executive decision‑making, and leads the ongoing development and embedding of an enterprise‑wide risk management framework aligned to government standards. This is an ideal role for a seasoned risk professional who enjoys influencing at senior levels, building organisational capability, and shaping risk culture during periods of reform and change. Key responsibilities Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation’s enterprise risk management framework in line with the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework Embed risk management into strategic planning, business planning and performance monitoring processes Provide high-quality risk analysis, insights and reporting to executive leadership and governance committees Monitor risk trends and emerging issues to inform decision-making and resource allocation Build organisational capability and a consistent, mature risk culture through collaboration and coaching Work closely with assurance, audit, compliance and integrity functions to ensure integrated risk oversight, including use of a GRC platform About you You are a senior risk leader with strong public sector experience and the credibility to influence executives and governance forums. You bring a pragmatic, values‑led approach and are comfortable operating in complex, highly regulated environments. You will demonstrate: Tertiary qualifications in risk management or a related discipline Deep knowledge of the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework and its application Proven experience leading enterprise risk management in a large, complex organisation Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to provide clear, authoritative advice A track record of embedding risk into planning, operations and organisational culture Experience working within government or a comparable regulatory environment What’s on offer VPS 6 temp role engagement of approximately 5 months, with an immediate start preferred Flexible and hybrid working arrangements; Central Melbourne CBD location This role may involve participation in whole‑of‑government emergency response and recovery activities following appropriate training.
