This fixed‑term, full‑time opportunity runs for 6 months and delivers a VPS Grade 5 salary of $113,022 – $136,747 plus superannuation. About The Role Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Senior Adviser, Risk is a specialist position and risk business partner within the Assurance branch. The role works with groups and business units within DJCS to coordinate and deliver the department's risk management programme. Responsibilities Lead delivery of the department's risk work programme, overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of risk management frameworks, policies, training programmes, and supporting tools and resources. Provide expert and authoritative risk advice to the senior manager, executives, and external stakeholders, supporting governance, identification of insurable risk, provision of risk intelligence, compliance, and informed decision‑making across the department. Strategically coordinate and advise across business units to lead service delivery excellence, embed best practice risk management, support reduced operational exposure, and ensure alignment with legislative and policy obligations. About You As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Knowledge of risk management standards – an understanding of AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management – Guidelines and the practical application of this standard is highly desirable. Extensive skills and experience and tertiary/industry qualifications in risk management, compliance, or business management is highly desirable. Qualifications/Requirements Relevant tertiary or professional qualification desirably in risk management, compliance, or business management.
