Lecturer Biochemistry / Cell Biology (Teaching Focused) Job No.: Fixed Term (Full‑time) Full‑time fixed‑term position until December 31, 2027. Location: Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus Classification: Level B Base Salary: from $% superannuation About the position A Level B teaching‑focused academic is responsible for curriculum development, subject coordination, teaching and scholarly activities in biochemistry, cell biology or related fields, working independently. The lecturer will contribute to their discipline locally and nationally, participate in professional activities and demonstrate teaching excellence as shown by student and peer feedback and other evidence‑based measures. Key teaching responsibilities Applying evidence‑based approaches to develop and assess teaching initiatives; Contributing to the university’s Scholarship of Teaching and Learning by sharing best practices; Coordinating and teaching subjects to ensure engaging, high‑quality student experiences across various delivery modes; Providing constructive and timely student feedback; Participating in innovative curriculum design and review, especially for online and blended learning; and Prioritising the integration of employability skills into the curriculum. Skills and Experience A PhD degree in Biochemistry / Cell Biology or a closely aligned discipline; Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face‑to‑face, blended and/or online modes, evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback, teaching excellence awards or other forms of evidence; Evidence of innovative initiatives using cutting‑edge approaches undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience and the evaluation of effectiveness of these initiatives; Demonstrated ability or potential to engage with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
