One on One Spanish Speaking Volunteer - Twilight Aged Care - Dural - The role of volunteers is valuable and crucial in providing an individual source of comfort to enrich the day-to-day life of our residents. As a volunteer you will assist in meeting the residents' interests, needs and preferences. Your time spent with a resident could include bonding over a cup of tea or coffee, talking with a resident or going outside for a walk. Group activities encourage participation in a range of person‑centered activities that target the individual residents' overall health and wellbeing. We are currently seeking a Spanish‑speaking volunteer to join the Twilight family at our Lady of Grace Facility in Dural to visit two of our Spanish residents. If you are looking to connect with the elderly in your community and can speak Spanish, we would love to hear from you. Twilight Aged Care has COVID‑safe practices in place in line with the current Government Health Guidelines to protect all volunteers, residents, family and staff. Volunteering for Twilight Aged Care can be a truly rewarding experience for those who are seeking to enhance the lives of our residents. Activities and one‑on‑one visits with residents are a great way to build resilience, combat loneliness, foster feelings of connectedness and help reduce feelings of depression and isolation. Responsibilities Provide companionship and social support to residents. Assist residents with day‑to‑day activities such as tea/coffee, conversation and walking outside. Participate in group activities aimed at improving residents' health and wellbeing. Offer translation and interpreting services for Spanish‑speaking residents. Qualifications Fluent in Spanish (speaking and listening). Willingness to engage with older adults and provide compassionate care. Availability to commit to a regular schedule of more than 6 months.
