About the Role This role involves working collaboratively with the kitchen staff to produce consistently high‑quality meals. You will practice and teach portion control, quality control, waste management, and product preparation techniques to ensure excellence in every dish. Key Responsibilities Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and practices across the kitchen. Training, mentoring and developing junior kitchen staff to foster a culture of excellence. Overseeing the preparation and presentation of food to meet the expectations of a diverse clientele. Collaborating with the team across multifaceted kitchens to ensure smooth operations during peak times and special events. Demonstrating superior recipe knowledge for every item on the hotel’s menus. Skills & Experience Passion for excellence and great attention to detail. 2–3 years’ experience in fast‑paced kitchens, ideally within Asian/Japanese restaurants of similar quality. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with peers. Strong organization and problem‑solving skills to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Solid understanding of food cost and production processes, focusing on efficiency and minimizing waste. Trade cooking qualifications (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery) are essential. A strong leadership style and work ethic, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
