What You’ll Do Develop and implement discrete event models using statistical distributions as inputs to simulate and analyze complex systems. Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful patterns, trends, and insights that inform strategic decisions. Utilize statistical software and programming languages for data manipulation and visualization. Apply operational research techniques to optimize processes and resource allocation. Perform sensitivity analysis assess the impacts of various operational strategies. Report on modeling approaches, results, and recommendations. Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. Contribute to the development of internal tools and systems to streamline data collection and reporting processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field. Proven experience in discrete event modeling and operational research. Familiarity with statistical distributions and their applications in modeling. Experience with Confluence, Slack, and other collaboration tools. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for presenting complex information clearly. Experience with simulation software is a plus. Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their applications in operational research. Familiarity with project management and Agile methodologies. Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 2 security clearance (NV2).
