Our production numbers are increasing and are inviting a new Mining Superintendent to become a part of our collaborative team, where your expertise will be vital in shaping the future of our operation. About The Role With the expansion to our production crews, Thiess are seeking a Mining Superintendent for a permanent employment opportunity at our Mount Pleasant Operation site in a 5/2 roster. The workforce has been built up with a focus on developing a strong performance culture. This culture values everyone’s contribution equally and is based on providing local opportunities. In this role, you will: Drive a strong safety culture Lead and develop a strong production team Work with the project leadership group to ensure production targets are met Drive accountability across the production team Mentor and coach supervisors/OCEs Strive for continuous improvement Monitor labour numbers to ensure effective manning and cost effectiveness in production About You The successful applicant will have significant experience working in open cut mining at the supervisory level along with: Working knowledge of NSW Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013 and Work Health and Safety (mines and Petroleum Sites Regulation 2014) Knowledge of WHS act & regs NSW OCE essential Mining Engineering Manager Practising Certificate – Highly desirable or working towards gaining the certification Experience and expertise in managing large contract mining teams. Enjoys the challenge of production KPI’s and striving to achieve to be the industry benchmark.
