Function Centre - Conference and Events Manager Since its inception in 1975, Burgess Rawson has established a reputation as the trusted partner in Property. The Role: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Conference and Events Manager looking for a challenging and rewarding career. Reporting to the Associate Director, Property Management, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing events booked by clients at The Hub Function Centre. This full-time position offers a 37.5-hour work week (Monday to Friday), with two shifts available: 7:30am to 3:30pm, and 9:30am to 5:30pm, which are staffed by the Conference and Events Manager and the Conference & Events Assistant Manager. The core booking and reception hours for the function centre are 8:00am to 5:00pm. Events may occur outside these hours or on weekends, run by casual staff and coordinated by the Conference and Events Manager. About The Hub Function Centre: Located in Bentley Technology Park, The Hub Function Centre is a modern and spacious function centre specialising in corporate events. With seven versatile event spaces, we pride ourselves on creating smooth and stress-free events for our clients. We are passionate about delivering successful events and work closely with our clients to achieve exceptional outcomes. Requirements: Experience in venue management Proven experience in administration or event coordination Experience in managing a team Competency in Windows, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook Previous experience with Function Tracker and Canva is advantageous but not essential Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Experience of managing marketing activities to increase bookings Proactive problem‑solving ability and the capacity to work under pressure First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain before the commencement date) Key Responsibilities: Manage a small team of co‑ordinators Oversee all aspects of the function centre (in conjunction with the Property Management Team) Collaborate with stakeholders including the café operator, private tenants, the property management team and the Landlord. Process, track, and convert sales enquiries, create proposals, and contracts Conduct site inspections with potential clients Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and returning clients Prepare detailed Event Orders Manage financial aspects of events, including handling deposit requests, issuing final invoices and overseeing arrears. Coordinate marketing and communication activities to promote the function centre including managing social media accounts, sales materials, Canva experience and website updates Seek customer feedback, analyse booking data and distribute regular reports to management Create digital and physical directional signage Set up, test, and troubleshoot AV equipment before clients' arrival Ensure team members follow OHS, safe work procedures, policies, and practices.
