Function Centre - Conference and Events Assistant Manager Since its inception in 1975, Burgess Rawson has established a reputation as the trusted partner in Property. The Role Reporting to the Conference and Events Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting with marketing and managing events at The Hub Function Centre. This full‑time position offers a 37.5‑hour work week (Monday to Friday), with two shifts available: 7:30am to 3:30pm, and 9:30am to 5:30pm. Events may occur outside these hours or on weekends, run by casual staff but coordinated by the Conference and Events Manager. About The Hub Function Centre Located in Bentley Technology Park, The Hub Function Centre is WA’s premier location for events south of the Perth CBD. The centre is a modern and spacious function centre specialising in corporate events. With seven versatile event spaces, we pride ourselves on creating smooth and stress‑free events for our clients. We are passionate about delivering successful events and work closely with our clients to achieve exceptional outcomes. Requirements Event marketing and management experience, with a strong customer focus preferred. Ability to assist in implementing marketing and activation activities to increase event bookings, including experience of managing social media accounts, Canva and website updates. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with Centre staff and stakeholders. Exceptional organisational, time management, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Enthusiasm, a can‑do attitude, and a proactive problem‑solving approach. Ability to work well under pressure. Previous experience with Function Tracker and Canva (or similar software) is desirable. Competency in Windows, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook is essential. First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain before the commencement date). Key Responsibilities Assist the Conference and Events Manager in all aspects of marketing and event operations at The Hub Function Centre. Collaborate with stakeholders including the café operator, private tenants, the property management team and the Landlord. Help coordinate marketing and communication activities to promote the function centre, managing advertising materials, website, and social media accounts. Market, process, track, and convert event enquiries into bookings. Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and returning clients. Conduct tours of the function centre for prospective clients. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge about the function centre and its surroundings to provide accurate information to visitors. Respond to all booking requests or enquiries within 24 hours and prepare detailed event orders. Ensure clients have their requirements met, and all rooms and equipment are booked accordingly. Arrange and oversee catering and other services, coordinating cleaning and maintenance staff to ensure seamless event execution. Set up, test, and troubleshoot AV equipment before clients' arrivals. Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of event rooms and equipment. Manage financial aspects of events, including handling deposit requests, issuing final invoices, and overseeing arrears. Assist in collecting and collating client feedback to continuously improve the services offered by the function centre. Why Join Our Team?
