Due to Navantia Australia’s ongoing success in delivering specialised Engineering Services to the Royal Australian Navy, we are growing considerably and are taking huge steps into Innovation. Responsibilities The software engineer designs, develops, modifies, documents, tests, implements, installs and supports software applications and systems. This role supports moving proof‑of‑concept innovation and R&D projects into production that align with the commercialisation goals of Navantia Australia. These projects include the development of maritime technologies related to artificial intelligence, simulation, and autonomous systems. The Software Engineer – Front End specialises in graphical user interfaces and may have experience in designing the user experience. Collaborate with a wider team of software developers and R&D team members to deliver software to requirements. Contribute to the design of software systems to meet requirements of all users. Write and maintain program code to meet system requirements, system designs and technical specifications in accordance with quality accredited standards. Test, debug, diagnose and correct errors and faults within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure software applications perform to specification. Support R&D team to develop new technological innovations. Monitor and keep up to date with the latest best practices in moving innovation and R&D projects into production.
