Knox Grammar School is an independent, multi-campus Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school for boys, located at Wahroonga on Sydney’s North Shore. ABOUT THE ROLE The Head Coach - Junior Program plays a critical role in bridging the gap between the Learn to Swim and the Performance Program, guiding swimmers through their competitive development and mentoring coaches to deliver excellence across all junior squad levels. This is a permanent full‑time position commencing December 2025. The successful candidate will: Lead the Junior Program, overseeing all coaching and swimmer development within the relevant Squads. Develop and implement squad structures, training plans and progression pathways aligned with long‑term athlete development. Identify and transition swimmers from Learn to Swim into the squad programs. Support swimmer progression into the Performance Program. Maintain and develop the Prep School swim team, including year‑round team management, carnival preparation, and team selections. Ensure swimmer progression through the school pathway, including IPSHA, CIS, PSSA and SSA competitions. Mentor and support junior squad coaches, fostering a collaborative and growth‑focused coaching environment. Monitor swimmer performance and provide individual feedback and goal‑setting support. Plan and deliver swim clinics, race nights and Knox Pymble Swim Club (KPSC) events, including internal and external development carnivals Teacher of Competitive Strokes / Competitive Swimming SCTA Development Accreditation (Bronze or higher) Apply First Aid and CPR Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on building and maintaining quality relationships with all members of the School’s community. Flexibility and the ability to adapt and operate effectively in a demanding and changing environment. Experience working with young adolescents, ideally in a school setting. Availability across a 7 day roster including mornings, evenings and weekends Silver License or higher coaching accreditation Tertiary qualifications in Sports Science or Education Pool Lifeguard certification Experience mentoring staff and managing swimmer pathways Computer literacy and familiarity with swim meet systems OUR OFFER Our staff across all campuses are key to providing exceptional experiences.
